Parent Advice
The U.K. has one of the most complicated educational systems in the world.
I can help parents navigate their way through this labyrinth in order to understand the best options available. As both a Head Teacher and father, I have first-hand experience of the process of applying for and securing places at schools.
I can provide advice based upon extensive knowledge gained, over 38 years, of the U.K.’s state and independent sectors, as well as international options. This includes not just identifying the right school, but providing advice about how to optimise the chance of being awarded a place.
I draw upon my extensive knowledge to provide as close a match as possible between child and school. This will enable you to cut through the marketing image presented by a school to its essence and what really matters: whether it is an environment in which your daughter, or son, will thrive and meet their potential.
I can provide an analysis of a school’s strengths and weaknesses, as well as arrange an in-person visit, on your behalf, in order to provide insightful feedback and enable you to make informed decisions.
Children’s experience of school has a massive impact on their life journey. Finding the best possible environment in which they can learn and grow can make all the difference in the world.
Parent Advice Testimonials
‘Patrick was instrumental in helping us make the right decision in where to send our children to secondary school. His in-depth knowledge of their academic achievements and personalities led us to choosing exactly the right school for them. Oliver and Bertie are both incredibly happy and flourishing at Tonbridge School.’
‘As a parent, choosing a school for your child is one of the most important decisions you can make. When I had to choose a secondary school place for my first son, I had a lot of different things to try and balance in my decision making, including the consideration that the choice I made for him would potentially have an impact on his younger brother. Not only does Patrick have a complete wealth of experience in helping and supporting parents choose a school for their child but for me, he was the rock of support and advice that was needed at a most critical time. Patrick went in person to look at any school we were considering. He gave endless amounts of time and patience and understood the unique complexities of our personal situation, as well as the personalities and needs of both my children. ’
